2-year-old Ammar Danish has suffered from Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) since birth. He has a hole in his heart which results in oxygenated blood and non-oxygenated blood mixing together, which in turn puts a lot of strain on his heart and lung arteries. In some cases, the hole eventually seals itself up after some time, but during a routine checkup on 11 January 2010, it was clear that that wasn’t the case with Baby Ammar and doctors pronounced surgery as being necessary to prevent the situation from growing worse.

There are a few ways you can help Baby Ammar get the surgery that he needs; we’re sure everyone would be able to contribute through one of the ways as mentioned below:

1. Enable ‘Show Charity Ads’ in your Blog Manager preferences for the duration of this fundraiser. You will not be paid for displaying the ads, but the ads will greatly help to promote this cause to more people who might be willing to do something for Baby Ammar.

Last week, she was admitted 4 days in General Hospital and she really tired when she come back to our house. I think because she won't get enough sleep when she in General Hospital.

When my baby was admitted second time in Hospital. I was decided to get the insurance to her. Why???
Because with insurance my baby can get benefits with more comfortable hospital. I mean Private Hospital + a few benefits. So, at that moment i was found an agent which i know can care my child as a well. Hopefully.. he can keep his word. I believe you man. ^_^.

To all parents, i think insurance for our baby is one of the best preparation to them. But we must carefully.. I suggest before you decided get the insurance, you must:

Fine out who are your agent?
Ask..and ask.. and ask... until you really understand and satisfied

Melaka Butterfly and Reptile Sanctuary Part 1

Last Sunday, Amalya went to Melaka Butterfly and Reptile Sanctuary. Its was first opened to public on the 1st February 1991. Here you can see variety of butterfly species. My first impression before i come here.. i think its just show a butterfly species and add on some of birds or small animals. But i was shocked when i saw a lots of reptile which i never see before and the most exicted to me is when i can see 4 Live Arapaima Gigas. Its so long...

But my advise is please take care seriusly to your children. Here we can see a some of animals and place can being dangeros if we not carefully..

We was arrived on 9.35 am. Not so crowded and easy to get a ticket. RM6 for adult. RM3 for each camera.

I will publish the amalya's foto on part II and III.. so, enjoy for it..

Last Sunday i was bring my family to Zoo Melaka. Zoo Melaka is located about 13km from Melaka City. It is the second largest Zoo in the country encompassing 54-acres with more than 1,200 animals of over 200 different species.

The Zoo was established in 1963. Since 1979, the Department of Wildlife and National Parks, Peninsular Malaysia took over the management of the Zoo to enhance its operations and upgrade its services for public's benefit. Zoo Melaka is easily accessible by public transportation via the city's bus terminal.

Zoo Melaka also functions as a center for wildlife research, conservation breeding, zoo education center and a popular tourist destination

About 198 species of mammals, 100 species of birds and 22 species of reptiles are exhibited at the zoo

The zoo is planning some programmes to ensure the survival of some endangered species. Some of them are captive breeding.

Since the Malayan Tiger (Panthera Tigris Malayenis) was found as a tiger sub-species, the zoo had raised over 40 tiger cubs and sent them to various types of places such as the United States. Two of them was Mek Degong and its mate Awang Relak; Malayan Tigers that were sent to San Diego Zoo in 2004.Besides that, it is also been used as a captured animal sanctuary for a temporary time until it is sent locally or abroad.

The symptoms of H1N1 (swine) flu in people are similar to the symptoms of regular human flu and include fever more than 38 "Celsius, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people have reported diarrhea and vomiting associated with H1N1 (swine) flu. In the past, severe illness (pneumonia and respiratory failure) and deaths have been reported with H1N1 (swine) flu infection in people. Like seasonal flu, H1N1 (swine) flu may cause a worsening of underlying chronic medical conditions.

In children emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention include:

Fast breathing or trouble breathing
Bluish or gray skin color
Not drinking enough fluids
Severe or persistent vomiting
Not waking up or not interacting
Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held
Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough

Secondly, the sugar and sodium salts have their effects on health. High calorie content with sugar can lead to obesity. Cholesterol and salt are known to setoff blood pressure, stroke and heart diseases in a chain. Excessive salts can affect functioning of kidneys too.

* Remove low tables with sharp corners that are hard to cover well enough to prevent injury. (Lacerations above or at the eyebrows are so common among kids learning to walk that in hospital emergency rooms they're called coffee-table lacerations!)

* Put away furniture that topples easily.

* Scour your home for trailing cords or other items your child might trip on. Put away throw rugs, retack loose carpet, and have siblings pick up their toys.

* Install safety gates at the top and the bottom of the stairs, and supervise your baby whenever he's on the stairs.

* Lock up all potentially harmful household substances.

note: I bring my daughter to large space without any furniture and lets her learn walk herself. e.g. I bring Amalya in Mydin Melaka.

My daughter (Amalya) really like this television series. May be because its a musical and sing-song television series.

The show's main characters are three elementary school classroom pets — Linny the Guinea Pig, Turtle Tuck, and Ming-Ming Duckling. They are presented as a trio of heroes who rescue baby animals as they demonstrate the benefits of teamwork.

Each episode follows a similar structure, with some variation, in terms of the storyline and the musical form.

As each episode begins, viewers hear the school children, off-screen, leaving school at the end of the day. They say goodbye to the classroom pets. Once the classroom is vacant, a pencil holder rattles to create the ringing of a tin can telephone. Often, the classroom will be decorated with student artwork or other items related to the storyline, particular animal or geographic location of that episode. One by one, the classroom pets wordlessly notice the ringing phone. Up to this point in the episode, they have acted like normal animals and not said a single word. But as the phone rings, the Wonder Pets get dressed (Linny in a orange-yellow cap, Ming-Ming in a leather pilot's helmet, Tuck in a white French sailor's cap and blue water shoes on his back feet) and make their way towards the phone (Linny dropping through a hole hidden under her food bowl and landing on a toy horse, Ming-Ming opening a hidden door in the wiring of her cage and then flying out, Tuck diving into the water in his tank and emerging in the classroom sink) while singing their opening verses:

Linny: "The phone, the phone is ringing!"
Ming-Ming: "The phone, we'll be wight there!"
Tuck: "The phone, the phone is ringing!"
Linny: "There's an animal in trouble..."
Ming-Ming: "There's an animal in twouble..."
Tuck: "There's an animal in trouble somewhere!"

The Wonder Pets answer the phone and find that an animal is in trouble somewhere. Linny explains the situation to the other two. When the situation is clear, they sing:

Tuck: "A baby [animal]
[In the specific peril.]"
Ming-Ming: "This is se-wious!"
Tuck: "We have to help him/her"
Linny: "Let's save the [animal]!"
Tuck and Ming-Ming or All then All: "Let's save the [animal]!"

They all jump into a box filled with fabric scraps and jump back out, wearing various different outfits, often alluding to the area of the world they will be visiting. They make a quick joke then jump back into the box and emerge in their Wonder Pets capes.

They assemble a flying toy sail boat called "The Flyboat" from classroom objects: a frisbee for a body, magic marker caps as rocket exhausts, a marble, wheels, the mast, and a sheet of paper for the sail. As they work, they sing:

Tuck and Ming-Ming or All: "Teamwork!"
Linny: "What's gonna work?"

Usually, the Wonder Pets encounter some sort of obstacle before leaving the classroom. The solution is invariably similar to the action they will need to take to save the animal in trouble. Then they rush off to the rescue, singing:

All: "Wonder Pets! Wonder Pets! We're on our way
To help a baby [animal] and save the day!"
Ming-Ming: "We're not too big,"
Tuck: "And we're not too tough,"
All: "But when we work together we've got the right stuff!
Go, Wonder Pets! Yay!"

When saving the animal, the Wonder Pets often fail on the first few attempts. Then the danger escalates, prompting Ming-Ming to once again sing, "This is se-wious!" Suddenly, the Wonder Pets remember how they solved the problem in the classroom and realize that the rescue has the same solution. Then they have to work together to achieve the rescue. They reprise their earlier song:

Linny: "Linny,"
Tuck: "Tuck,"
Ming-Ming: "And Ming-Ming, too."
All: "We're Wonder Pets and we'll help you!"
Linny: "What's gonna work?"
Tuck and Ming-Ming or All: "Teamwork!"

In Phoenix , Arizona , a 26-year-old mother stared down at her 6 year old son, who was dying of terminal leukemia.
Although her heart was filled with sadness, she also had a strong feeling of determination.

Later that day she went to her local fire Department in Phoenix , Arizona , where she met Fireman Bob, who had a heart as big as Phoenix !

She explained her son's final wish and Asked if it might be possible to give her 6 year-old son a ride around the block on a fire engine?

Fireman Bob said, "Look, we can do better than that. If you'll have your son ready at
seven o'clock Wednesday morning, we'll make him an honorary Fireman for the whole day."
"He can come down to the fire station, eat with us, go out on all the fire calls, the whole nine yards!"
"And if you'll give us his sizes, we'll get a real fire uniform for him, with a real fire hat - not a toy – one with the emblem of the Phoenix Fire Department on it, a yellow slicker like we wear and rubber boots."
"They're all manufactured right here in Phoenix, so we can get them fast."

Three days later Fireman Bob picked up Billy, dressed him in his uniform and escorted him from his hospital bed t o the waiting hook and ladder truck.

Billy got to sit on the back of the truck and help steer it back to the fire station.
He was in heaven.

There were three fire calls in Phoenixthat day and Billy got to go out on all three calls.
He rode in the different fire engines, the Paramedic's' van, and even the fire chief's car.
He was also videotaped for the local news program.

Having his dream come true,
with all the love and attention that was lavished upon him,

One night all of his vital signs began to drop dramatically and the head nurse, who believed
in the hospice concept - that no one should die alone, began to call the family members to the hospital.
Then she remembered the day Billy had spent as a Fireman, so she called the Fire Chief and
asked if it would be possible to send a fireman in uniform to the hospital to be with Billy as he made his transition.
The chief replied, "We can do better than that.
We'll be there in five minutes..

Will you please do me a favor?"
When you hear the sirens screaming and see the lights flashing, will you announce over the
PA system that there is not a fire?'
'It's the department coming to see one of its finest members one more time.

And will you open the window to his room?'

About five minutes later a hook and ladder truck arrived at the hospital and extended its ladder up to Billy's third floor open window, 16 fire-fighters climbed up the ladder into Billy's room

With his mother's permission,they hugged him and held him and told him how much they LOVED him.

With His dying breath, Billy looked up at the fire chief and said,
"Chief, am I really a fireman now?"
"Billy, you are, and The Head Chief,
Angels, is holding your hand," the fire chief said.

Based on My health portal, The treatment depends on the types and severity of the injuries.

If the child sustains minor injuries such as bruises and sprain, cold compress the area with ice. Give the child Paracetamol syrup to relieve pain. Rest the affected area.

If the child sustains cuts, clean the area with water, compress the wound with thumb for few minutes to stop bleeding and elevate it. Cover it with clean dressing.

If you suspect the child has a broken bone, splint the area with a blanket, thick cloth or pillow to avoid movement. Use a cloth sling for any broken bones of the upper limbs.
Check the bandaged areas to ensure normal blood circulation. If the skin becomes cold and discoloured, loosen the applied bandage.

If you suspect the child to have serious injuries, seek medical help.

In 1996-2000, the Government of Bangladesh observed national Children's Day on the birthday of the father of nation, Bangabandhu Shekh Mujibur Rahman on 20th March. But under the BNP regime from 2001 to 2006, this celebration was stopped and the country only observed Universal Children's Day, which was recognised by UNICEF.

Canada

Canada's "National Child Day" is held on November 20th each year as enacted in Bill C-371, otherwise known as the Child Day Act, by the Parliament of Canada in 1993 to fulfill Canada's commitment to the United Nations General Assembly's recommendation to observe a Universal Children's Day.Canadian Children's Rights Council It is not a holiday in Canada.

In Russia, as well as other former Soviet Union states, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, other former or current communist states, Albania, Angola, Benin, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Republic and Slovakia, Ethiopia and Eritrea, Germany, Laos, Republic of Macedonia, Mongolia, Montenegro, Mozambique, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia, Tanzania, Yemen, Children's Day is celebrated on June 1.

This list includes 25 countries which regained independence from USSR, seceded from Yugoslavia Federation, as well as Czechoslovakia, Ethiopia after their respective splits.

Germany

During the Cold War, Children's Day (Kindertag) was handled quite differently in West Germany East Germany. They were held on different dates in these two states. East Germany celebrated Children's Day on June 1 while West Germany celebrated it on September 20. The official names of Children's Day were also different. In East Germany, it was known as "International Children's Day" (Internationaler Kindertag), whereas in West Germany, it was called "World Children's Day" (Weltkindertag). and

The customs of Children's Day were also significantly different in West and East Germany. In East Germany, the holiday was introduced in 1950, and was from then held on a yearly basis for the children. On this day of the year, children would typically be congratulated and would receive presents from their parents and did special activities in school, such as field trips and the like. In West Germany, Children's Day did not have such meaning to the children, and was even mostly unknown to many people.

After the reunification of East and West Germany occurred in 1990, the date and name of the event used in the West have become the official ones for the former East as well. This however was not accepted by large parts of the former East German population. Most parents still celebrate Children's Day with their kids on the former date, June 1, and public events pertaining to Children's Day even take place on the old date.

Paraguay

In Paraguay, Children's Day is celebrated on August 16, day of the infamous Battle of Acosta Ñu, where 20,000 thousand men of the Brazilian Army crushed a Paraguayan battle made up of 3,500 children ages six to fifteen - even though Paraguay had been already completely defeated (see more in War of the Triple Alliance). It's a national holiday, used to remember the atrocities the Brazilians committed during the five-year war.

People's Republic of China

In the People's Republic of China, Children's Day is celebrated on June 1 and is formally known as "the June 1st International Children's Day" (Simplified Chinese: 六一国际儿童节; pinyin: lìuyīguójì’értóngjié). When the People's Republic of China was first established in 1949, the State Council (Cabinet) designated a half-day holiday for all primary schools on June 1. This was later made into a full day's break in 1956 with The Announcement by the State Council to make June 1 Children's Day a One-Day Holiday^[1]. Schools usually hold activities such as camping trips or free movies on Children's Day to allow students to have fun, and children of civil servants might also receive small gifts from the government. Entrance ceremonies of the Young Pioneers of China (similar to boy scouts in the West) are usually held on June 1 as well. However on June 1, 2008 the day was made even more memorable, as many people remembered the children who died in the earthquake just a few weeks before.

Poland

Children's Day (Dzień Dziecka, literally "child's day") is celebrated in Poland on June 1. The International Children's Day was introduced in Poland in 1952. It coincides with the beginning of summer and it is usually treated as a holiday, as it takes place near the end of the school year. Schools usually organize special activities for the day of the celebration, and the first week of June is a time of festivities organized in parks and entertainment centers for children. In South Korea, 5th of May is officially recognised as Children's Day.

Sri Lanka

Universal Children's Day is celebrated on the 1 October. In 2008, this day was a holiday because it coincided with Ramazan, a Muslim festival. In Sri Lanka, it is a custom to take children somewhere special on this day. In schools, children are given sweets, and in nursery's and Grades 1 and 2 presents, while at home, various delicacies are made, and presents are given.Some Children's Parks will be free for children on October 1st in Sri Lanka. In 2008, Peter Hayes, the British High Commissioner for Sri Lanka, hosted a party- a fun filled event complete with free rides, a magic show and food for over a hundred children from nearby orphanages and from the streets. They were given gifts as well.

Sweden

Taiwan

The Republic of China (Taiwan) designates April 4 as Children's Day (traditional Chinese: 兒童節), pursuant to Article 5 of the Order to Implement Commemoration Days and Holidays.^[2]April 4, 1993. Turkey

In Turkey, Children's Day has been celebrated on April 23rd since 1935. It originated from the first gathering of Grand National Assembly on April 23, 1920, during the Turkish Independence War.

After the Ottomans were defeated during World War I, Turkish land had been occupied by other European countries such as England, Italy and France. Ataturk, an Ottoman commander, broke his ties with the dying Empire and started the war for independence against Allied forces and the old Ottoman regime. After years of fighting Turkey won full independence.

Turks consider Ataturk to be "The Father of Modern Turkey". After the war, Ataturk refused the role of Sultan or King and established a modern Republic instead. He gifted April 23rd to the children for the country, so that they would cherish the independence that cost so much, but at the same time walk the path of "Peace at Home, Peace in the World"

On April 23rd children from around the world come to Turkey. They're hosted by families who have children of a similar age. Festivities last over a week and the visiting and Turkish children spend a lot of time together. Many children, often not even speaking the same language, create lifelong friendships. Several of the events are broadcast on television, showing the children in their traditional national outfits, dancing singing and exchanging gifts. The United Nations participates the events.

Ukraine

Children's Day (Ukrainian: День захисту дітей, literally "day of child's protection") is celebrated in Ukraine on June 1. It was introduced in Ukraine in 1998.

United States of America

Children’s Day observations in the United States predate both Mother’s and Father’s Day.

The celebration of a special Children’s Day in America dates from the 1860s and earlier.

In 1856, Rev. Charles H. Leonard, D.D., then pastor of the First Universalist Church of Chelsea, Mass., set apart a Sunday for the dedication of children to the Christian life, and for the re-dedication of parents and guardians to bringing-up their children in Christian nurture. This service was first observed the second Sunday in June.^[3]

The Universalist Convention at Baltimore in September, 1867, passed a resolution commending churches to set apart one Sunday in each year as Children’s Day.^[4]

The Methodist Episcopal Church at the Methodist Conference of 1868 recommended that second Sunday in June be annually observed as Children’s Day.^[4]

The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in 1883 designated the “the second Sabbath in June as Children’s Day.”^[5]

Also in 1883, the National Council of Congregational Churches and nearly all the state bodies of that denomination in the United States passed resolutions commending the observance of the day. About this time many other denominations adopted similar recommendations.^[4]

Chase’s Calendar of Events cites Children’s Sunday and notes that The Commonwealth of Massachusetts issues an annual proclamation for the second Sunday in June.

Numerous churches and denominations currently observe the second Sunday in June including the African Methodist Episcopal Church^[6] and the Church of the Nazarene^[7].

Children's Day, was proclaimed by President Bill Clinton in October 2000. He declared that it be held on October 8th.

"National Child's Day" was proclaimed by the President of the United States of America, George W. Bush, as June 3, 2001 and in subsequent years on dates in early June. In 2003, he proclaimed June 1. Nowhere in any of the proclamations did the President refer to the United Nations or the UN Resolution about Universal Child Day. It is important to note that The United States of America is one of only two countries in the world that have not ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. As of November 2007, 193 countries have ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, (UNCRC). The only other country that has not ratified the UNCRC is Somalia. Children's Day was first celebrated worldwide in October 1953, under the sponsorship of International Union for Child Welfare in Geneva. The idea of a Universal Children's Day was mooted by Rubab Mansoor grade 8(a student of IGSC)and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1954.

Universal Children's Day takes place on November 20 annually. First proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1954, it was established to encourage all countries to institute a day, firstly to promote mutual exchange and understanding among children and secondly to initiate action to benefit and promote the welfare of the world's children. It was also chosen as the day to celebrate childhood.

November 20 is also the anniversary of the day when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959. The Convention on the Rights of the Child was then signed on the same day in 1989, which has since been ratified by 191 states.
